Welcome to our range of tutored courses. If you sign up for a tutored course, you will be assigned your own personal language tutor. Your tutor will answer any questions you have about the course and give you feedback on your tutorials.

General English

Net Languages offers seven levels of online General English courses, ranging from Pre-Elementary (A1) to Advanced (C1). Each complete level contains between 120 and 150 hours of study time. Students can sign up for a complete level (10 units) or half a level (Part A, units 1-5, or Part B, units 6-10). Each unit is designed around a topic and is divided into 15 sections. These sections include reading, vocabulary, grammar, listening, pronunciation practice, functional and practical English, and one oral and two written tutorials.

Each student is assigned a personal tutor who will help and support you during the course. The combination of motivating material, tutor support and a wide variety of exercise types contribute to an enjoyable and rewarding language learning experience.

English for Work

These compact, highly effective English for Work courses consist of 20-25 hours of study and are offered at two levels: Lower Intermediate (B1) and Upper Intermediate (B2). We offer eight different modules at each level. Each module is centred around specific work-related areas of English communication. The modules are: Telephoning, Making Presentations, Travelling, Negotiating and Selling, Staffing and Training, Banking and Finance, Writing, and Meetings. You can choose any combination of modules at the same level according to your needs.

Each student is assigned a personal tutor to answer questions and give feedback on written and oral work. The support of your own personal tutor combined with stimulating online material is a very effective way of learning English.

English for Doctors

The Net Languages English for Doctors courses are specifically designed for doctors who deal with English-speaking patients in the surgery. The courses provide study and practice of useful language. They contain visually attractive materials, high-quality listening and video material, and a wide variety of exercise types and activities to make learning and practising English a meaningful and fun experience.

The courses provide learners with approximately 25 hours of study material. Written and spoken tutorials put the content of the course into practice in a useful, communicative and enjoyable way. Course participants can consult with tutors about any issues that arise concerning the use of English in their personal context.

English Writing Practice

The Net Languages online Writing Practice courses are available at three levels: Basic (A1 to A2 of the Common European Framework), Intermediate (B1 to B1+) and Advanced (B2 to C1). These courses contain over 65 interactive activities at the Basic and Intermediate levels and over 100 exercises at the Advanced level.

These highly motivating courses work on a range of text types including emails, blogs, letters, reports, fact files, articles and narratives, and cover a wide variety of interesting topic areas. Activities are logically organised to focus on model texts, text features, writing strategies and useful language. Each section ends with a writing task based on the model text. Six of these writing tasks are sent to your own personal tutor, who will give you useful correction and feedback on your written work.

In addition, the Writing Practice courses contain a glossary for selected vocabulary.

IELTS Exam Preparation

Net Languages offers a wide range of preparation materials for students planning on taking the official IELTS Academic exam.

We offer a very complete IELTS Preparation Course which helps students to prepare for the four tests which make up the exam: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The course helps candidates to understand what is required in the different tests and helps you develop strategies to answer the questions to the best of your capabilities. The course also includes access to a complete practice test.

Our IELTS Writing Test Preparation focuses specifically on the writing test section of the exam. The first five units focus on developing techniques for tackling writing Task 1 and the second five units help you develop writing skills for Task 2.

Net Languages' IELTS Speaking Test Preparation helps candidates to prepare for the speaking test of the exam by working in depth on the three different parts of this test.

We also offer access to an additional Practice Test for students who want to experience an IELTS exam and find out how they would get on.

FCE Exam Practice

The Net Languages First Certificate in English (FCE) practice tests are ideal for anyone planning to sit the official exam. They provide students with a real exam simulation and a realistic idea of the grade they are likely to get.

There are five practice tests in this range. Each student is assigned a personal tutor for the writing and speaking parts of the exam.

Each student is assigned a personal tutor to answer questions and give feedback on written and oral work. The support of your own personal tutor combined with stimulating online material is a very effective way of learning English.

Methodology for Teachers of English

Net Languages currently offers two methodology courses designed for English teachers – one which is targeted at teachers of primary classes, and the other which is more suitable for teachers of secondary or adult classes.

The courses are designed for teachers with or without experience. The 10 units in each course cover a wide range of relevant areas such as classroom management, teaching writing, doing projects, songs and games, amongst others.

Students are provided with their own personal tutor, to whom they send regular assignments based on their classroom teaching or on their familiarity with current ELT materials. The tutor will provide feedback and advice. Students are also invited to exchange opinions and experiences with other students on the course-specific noticeboards.

General Spanish

Net Languages’ General Spanish courses are available at five levels, from Pre-Elementary (A1) to Upper Intermediate (B2). Each complete level contains between 120 and 150 hours of study time. The English for Very Young Learners course is for young learners between the ages of 4 and 6 with no previous knowledge of English.

Spanish Verb Conjugator

The Spanish Verb Conjugator is a useful tool designed to help you practise the conjugation of a series of Spanish verbs. These verbs provide you with a model for regular verbs as well as different types of irregular verbs.

The choice of verbs takes into consideration the different spelling characteristics of the Spanish language as well as the use of reflexive pronouns in reflexive verbs and the word order of these pronouns.

With the Verb Conjugator you can listen to each individual form of the verbs practised and print the answers.
